high key and low ket photography

high key- a style of lighting that is bright, even, and produces little contrast between light and dark areas of the scene.
For high key photos there are alot of lights used infront and behind the person

low key-(of a photograph) having chiefly dark tones, usually with little tonal contrast ( distinguished from high key).
For the low key photos the model is infront of a black or dark background with one light coming from an angle.

visual portfolio brainstorming

one of the sites i like is this one http://www.jonathanyuen.com/_main.html . I really like how simple it is with just the black and white for the colour scheme, it looks professional.  i also like how if u put your mouse over the little red + sign it brings up the other things you can do on the site. what makes this site professional from others is that its very clean and easy to understand how it works. i really like how he made it slide the the right instead of growing up and down.

i also really like the actions on this one  http://www.cathybeck.com/   how the branch of the tree grows to the next subject of the blog. for my blog i would like to make it colourful like some of the other ones but a lot of them aren't working so i cant see what they look like.

for my visual portfolio i would like to do some kind of a street theme. I think it would be cool to take pictures of the the streets and use them as the backgrounds for my portfolio.i think it would be cool to have it as like an alley in the streets with a dumpster or something like that as a button and have a person skate by and hav the sound of the wheels on the cement. also ad in like a pipe or a sewer with gass floating from it.

for about a month now i have been thinking about doing a write up about my barn and some how showing it to the world that i have an indoor skatepark in my barn.  i think people would find it cool that i live on a farm and in my barn theres graffiti and street art + all the normal things in a barn. i think that my barn would be a great theme for my visual profolio because it is a part of me and it is where i spend alot of time creating.

sound sculpture reflection

What I like about my sound sculpture. I really like the bottom button of the skateboard and how I used a picture of the same skateboard just one was all marked up and one was new. I like how there is a sounds for all the parts on my skateboard button.  I’m glad I chose skateboarding because its something I enjoy and I hope the sounds give the user an experience of what its like to skate.
What I dislike?  I don’t really like how the long board is on the road by itself. I wish I added a skateboard on the side walk and made it make a clicking noise.  I don’t really like how big the background picture is either I was originally looking for a picture with just a side walk on one half and a road on the other from a birds eye view.
What makes this a sculpture?  When just looking at it i see it as a picture not a sculpture, but when you click one of the buttons and you see the old thrashed part of the board and here the sound I feel like it is pretty realistic to the actual skateboarding experience.

sound sculpture brainstorming

For this project I would like to show a side of skateboarding that only skaters really know of. Skateboarding wouldn't be the same if it didn't have the popping and snapping sounds of the board hitting the cement.  Most people find it loud and annoying but to skaters the sounds of the board is like art.

I think I am going to start by finding a picture of a road for the background and have different skateboards on it and when you click different part of different boards it will make the sound that they would in real life. I'm also going to add a side walk into the background and add the clicking sound that is made when the wheels hit the cracks of the sidewalk.

animated masterpiece

What I like about it. I like how it actually turned out looking like the maid drops the sheet and the dustpan. I like how its fairly smooth for Photoshop and the background didn’t look that bad because of the clone stamp tool. I enjoyed animating this on Photoshop but the flash part i didn’t like near as much. But I like the concept of repeating the image in Photoshop and make it look like its moving then putting it in flash to watch it.

What I don’t like. I dont like how the sound of the dustpan doesn't match up exactly when it hits the ground. I also dont how it took so long to make. I wish animation didn't take so long. if animation wasn't so time consuming I would mabey consider it as a career choice.

What I think banksy would think of this is that it is a cool idea and that somebody took his art and made it move.  I can also see him being annoyed that another fan of his copied one of his pieces because so many people do. I think he would look at it as just another piece os fan art.

moveing art brainstorming

For this project I'm going to do a Banksy piece.  there is so many pieces in my mind that would work but i think I'm going to do this one
I'm going to make it look like the girl drop the sheet down and throws the dust pan into it. i was going to make here roll paint over herself but that would have been to complicated.

world flag

What I like about this flag is that it represents the world as being one.  I like how I showed the four elements and how it unites the world together because everyone needs them to live.  The sun in the background is also something that everyone needs to be able to live because it gives us heat. The sun also unites the world as one.
What I don’t like is the black lines behind the big globe that the sun caused. I also don’t like how the fire and earth globes are not as black and they don’t stand out as much as the wind and the water.  I really didn’t like this assignment at first because I was really confused on what I wanted to do but I’m happy on how it turned out.
This flag is art because it’s an image that i made using photo shop. the image on the flag also has a massage behind it for the viewer to find out.  the massege behind my flag is that everyone in the world has things in comin. the 4 elements are a bassic thing that we all have in comin and they represent life.
